The cooler months in Canberra invite us to slow down.
Soft light. Quiet mornings. The world outside becomes a little gentler, a little more contained. And when you have a newborn in your arms, that shift feels even more meaningful. You are already living in a slower rhythm - feeding, settling, holding, breathing them in. The cooler season simply meets you there.
This is why studio newborn sessions at this time of year feel so comforting.
You don’t have to think about the weather. You don’t have to tidy your home. You don’t have to prepare much at all, really. You just arrive, with your baby in your arms, and everything else is ready for you.
a warm, cosy space - prepared for you
When families come into my Bruce home studio for their newborn photography session, especially during the cooler season, the first thing I want them to feel is… relief.
You walk into a space that’s already set up for you. The studio is warm and climate controlled, so your baby is comfortable no matter what the weather is doing outside.
There’s soft natural light, a cosy, home-like feeling, and a quiet sense that you can just… exhale.
You don’t need to bring props or plan anything elaborate. You don’t need to create the perfect environment.
It’s already here.
Everything you need, in one place
One of the biggest worries new parents have when planning a baby photoshoot is the logistics.
What do we bring?
What if the baby needs a change?
What if I need space to feed?
What if everything feels a bit overwhelming?
So much of what I’ve created in the studio is about gently removing those worries.
There’s a private bathroom and a dedicated changing space.
A change table with essentials ready to go.
Easy, accessible parking right at the door.
Small things, but when you’re in those early postpartum days, they matter.
You don’t have to think ahead or prepare for every scenario. You don’t have to carry everything with you “just in case”.
You can arrive as you are, and trust that you’ll be taken care of.
Handknits
This autumn, I have a small selection of beautiful handknits in soft, muted tones available for newborn photo sessions in the studio.
They pair beautifully with plain and simple bodysuits or singlets.
If you would like to use one, just let me know before your session, or when you get here.
accessories
The studio also has a selection of other props and accessories available - in keeping with the natural tone of the Little Wing Images' style.
We can swaddle your baby in muslin wrap of your choosing, for gorgeous snuggly shots.
And there is a soft, cosy sheepskin and organic moses basket for beautiful solo portraits of your tiny sweet baby.
if this feels like what you need...
If you’re expecting a baby during the cooler months in Canberra, or you’ve recently welcomed your little one, and the idea of a warm, ready-to-go space feels like a relief…
I would love to hold that space for you.
You don’t need to have it all together.
You don’t need to feel ready.
You don’t need to do anything perfectly.
Just bring yourselves.
And I’ll take care of the rest.
