Who I photograph
Many parents approach me asking me to "focus on the baby". Absolutely I will! Equally important, though, is that you are included in capturing this special time. For you, for your baby, for the future.
I also often include older siblings and grandparents in newborn photo sessions all around the Canberra region. And yes even pets can be included 🥰
Where I photograph
I offer newborn sessions in your home (in and around Canberra), in my home studio in Bruce, and in Canberra hospitals (subject to availability).

How it works
1 Reserve your session
Contact me to discuss your needs, and find a preliminary date. We can schedule a voice or video call to talk it through, or discuss it by email or text/WhatsApp.
Once we've found a date, I'll send through an invoice for payment for your deposit, a client questionnaire, and a preparation guide.
Sessions for newborns are flexible - I'll check in with you a couple of weeks out from our planned date, to see if the date still suits your family or if a change is preferable.
2 The session
My sessions are baby-led and responsive to your family's needs. We take our time, pause when baby needs feeding or settling, or when anyone needs a break. I'll work to make sure I capture the images you are dreaming of, including baby portraits, snuggly parent shots, and precious little details. We'll make sure big siblings, grandparents, and pets are included to, if that's your plan! The process is unhurried and relaxed - parents comment how easy it all is!
3 Plan what to do with your images
Within a month of our session (usually sooner), you'll receive an email with a link to your online gallery (and a text, in case it goes to spam!). From there, you can download your full gallery in high resolution, and order the most beautiful quality prints and frames to display or gift (please print some! It's what photography is made for 🫶Promise you won't regret it)

What is the best age to get newborn photos?
Anytime is the right time to photograph your beautiful newborn baby. We will initially reserve your session for 2-4 weeks after baby's due date, but we're flexible around dates once your baby arrives to make sure the session works for you and your family.

We have streamlined packages which don't include wardrobe, but we can speak to you about your wardrobe choices if you're wondering about what to wear for your newborn photoshoot, and recommend local businesses to help you.
How do I decide between an in-home or a studio photography session?
Clients who choose an in-home session like this option because they don't have to leave the comfort of home, and they can include older siblings, pets, and extended family in the session. My clients who choose a studio session appreciate having a suitable, cosy space already prepared and ready for them - they just bring themselves and the rest is done for them.

Is my baby too old for a newborn photo session?
In my opinion, it's never "too late" for a photo session 😂
The newborn stage can be busy with lots to adjust to and manage. If that was the case for you, know that now is the perfect time to book a photoshoot.
