During newborn photo sessions, I want my clients to feel completely relaxed and cared for from the moment they arrive. These early days with your baby are tender, emotional, and fleeting, and my goal is to create a calm, gentle space where you can simply be present. I take a slow, baby-led approach, allowing time for feeding, settling, and cuddles, so there's no pressure or rush. Every detail is thoughtfully considered to ensure your comfort, and I’m here to guide you through the experience with warmth and support—so you can feel confident, at ease, and truly enjoy this special time.

Whether your session is in your home or in my studio, at the beginning of each session, we take a little time to settle in, allowing both you, your partner, and your baby to get comfortable. Your wellbeing matters just as much as capturing beautiful images, so I'll take some time to check in with you about how you're feeling about our session and generally - there is so much to adjust to in the earliest postpartum days, and I want to bring only kindness into that sacred space.

We will also chat about what’s most important to you in the session, whether that’s certain moments you want documented, specific details you don’t want to forget, or simply creating a calm and meaningful experience. If your session is in your home, we might talk about how to involve older siblings, grandparents, and pets. We'll chat about where in your home is the best for the session, and make any preparations for that space. This intentional pause helps us connect, align expectations, and shape a session that truly reflects your unique story.

Our photo session begins gently and comfortably, with no expectations or pressure—just space to ease in and settle together. I follow the natural rhythm of your baby and your family, moving through the session in an unrushed and intuitive way. Whether that means pausing for a cuddle, a feed, or simply taking a breath, I’m guided by what you and your little one need in each moment. This relaxed approach allows authentic connection and emotion to unfold naturally, creating images that feel honest, tender, and deeply personal.

This might sound more like hanging out than posing - and it is. I'll guide you the whole way, and make suggestions, but you can just relax and enjoy your baby and your family. Laugh, cuddle, snuggle, feed. Have a little cry if you need to. As we go, I will be mindful of your priorities for the session to make sure I document all those important details and moments for you to keep forever.

You never need to worry if your baby is unsettled during the session—it's completely normal, and in fact, I’ve rarely had a session where a baby doesn’t cry at some point. These early days are full of little pauses, feeds, cuddles, and soothing, and that’s all part of the beautiful story we’re capturing. Some of the most touching, genuine images come from those quiet in-between moments, when you’re simply comforting or holding your baby close. You can focus entirely on caring for your little one, knowing that I’ll gently and patiently take care of the photography, without pressure or expectation, documenting the beautiful, loving care you have for your baby.
